MODEL (short example)
Gender roles today are a slippery slope. On one hand, many stereotypes are based on truth, but they can be very harmful to people. Today, men are seen to be more powerful, while women are seen to be weaker. Even simple things like the toys we play with or the activities we enjoy can be categorized based on gender. In the book Frannie Saves the Day, Frannie is made fun of because she enjoys an activity, football, that is typically enjoyed by the opposite gender. Personally, I greatly enjoy playing with toy trucks and cars, but because I am a girl, this activity would be less acceptable for me. Stereotypes can limit people in their daily lives.
